Self: Johnson is a dfferent caliber athlete

JayhawkSlant.com Minutes after top-ranked Kansas defeated Fort Hays State, 107-68, freshman Elijah Johnson never stopped smiling as he made his way from the locker room to post game press conference. In 20 minutes of action, the 6-foot-2, 183-pound guard from Las Vegas, Nev., connected on 4-of-5 field goals, 1-of-2 free throws and scored nine points. At one point, head coach Bill Self was seriously considering red-shirting Johnson, but following his performance tonight, KU's head man is thinking otherwise.
