Ben Howland meets the press
UCLA Head Coach Ben Howland started his weekly press conferences Thursday before the Bruins first regular season against Cal State University Fullerton. He began the press conference discussing the team's problem defending the dribble. He said that they were getting beat off the dribble penetration and needed to stay in front of the dribbler. He was especially concerned with the power forward getting beat off the bounce.
There are also concerns that the team had no offensive rebounds in one half of Tuesday's game, although Malcolm Lee did well on the boards in the second half. Howland also thought that Drew Gordon had good position for rebounding but the ball just bounced the other way.
