Ducks add JC lineman
The Oregon program has been in search of a junior college offensive lineman to help hold down the all-important offensive line for Chip Kelly's spread system. With a few names floating around, one of the lesser known names comes from a very familiar junior college that has been very friendly to the Oregon program in recent years. The connection that Oregon has with City College of San Francisco has helped the likes of Matthew Harper and Jeremiah Masoli wind up in Eugene in recent years.
Now the Ducks have dipped into the junior college powerhouse in the San Francisco Bay Area once again, this time they got the offensive linemen they were looking for, Ryan Clanton. Coach Steve Greatwood has had his eye on the 6-foot-5, 305lb CCSF star since showed up out of Bakersfield Christian in Bakersfield, California.
"Yes sir, I am now an Oregon Duck" said Clanton. "I took my visit this past weekend and I fell in love with the place. I had been to Washington and planned on checking out Arizona State and Florida State but with the coaching situation at FSU and my experience at Oregon, I made the choice to commit to Coach Great wood and Coach Kelly at Oregon."
