Jones impressed with MSU atmosphere
New Baltimore (Mich.) Anchor Bay athlete Taiwan Jones has been to Michigan State several times during the early stages of his recruitment, and the 6-3, 205-pounder made a return stop in East Lansing Sunday, for the Spartans' junior day.
"It was fun," Jones told SpartanMag.com about the junior day that took place during the MSU hoops game against Ohio State. "Plus seeing all the other top prospects they have on their list too, it was a good time."
"We didn't talk too much," Jones added of the time he spent with other recruits. "I talked to Lawrence Thomas and (DeAnthony) Arnett."
Mark Dantonio, who has been serving as the lead contact for Jones since Dan Enos left MSU to become the head coach at Central Michigan, was not in attendance during the junior day, so Jones and his parents spent time talking to and having their questions about MSU answered by linebackers coach Mike Tressel.
The Spartans offered Jones back in November and are recruiting him to play safety and/or outside linebacker.
