UF commit Joyer relieved process is over
Now that Tampa (Fla.) Catholic fullback Hunter Joyer has decided to become a Florida Gator, he can finally catch his breath, relax and even do some recruiting of his own.
As luck would have it, he knows one of Florida's biggest targets.
That would be James Wilder Jr.,, a standout five-star running back/linebacker from across town at Tampa Plant.
"I wouldn't say I'm very close friends, but I know him and we talk often," Joyer said. "We talk about recruiting. I'm trying. I'm doing what I can."
The 6-foot, 245-pound Joyer, the country's top-rated fullback, committed to the Gators last week over offers from programs such as Louisville, South Florida, Stanford and Texas A&M. In the end, it came down to Florida and Stanford.
