Dirk Tanner is almost a mirror image of current Louisiana Tech defensive tackle Mason Hitt. With Hitt graduating this year, Tanner could slide right into the rotation next season if he chooses to sign with Louisiana Tech.
This summer Dirk is spending his summer working out and getting strong in preparation for next season.
Currently Tanner has many offers, Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee, Rice, Missouri State, Kansas, Tulsa, Central Arkansas, and Louisiana-Monroe.
While Tanner has only visited Louisiana Tech and Kansas and had great visits at both places, one stands out from the rest. Louisiana Tech holds that position currently. As they say in business it's all about "location, location, location". The same can be said for recruiting at times.
"I absolutely love the coaches down there. I feel like it's a place where I can not only grow as a football player but as a man. It [Louisiana Tech] is only 3 and a half hours from my home and only an hour and a half away from my grandparent's home. So, it is really convenient for my grandparents to come watch me play every game."
Tanner added later that it was safe to say Louisiana Tech was his favorite.
