Hughes Finds Surprising New Friend
When talking about official visits people tend to talk about the bonds built between recruits and coaches, or even possibly recruits and current players. However there are occasions when recruits start to build the friendships amongst their future teammates of the next four to five years.
On the surface it shouldn't surprise most that Oklahoma's pair of defensive end commitments Nathan Hughes and Cooper Washington found a bond during their trip. Although when you consider the entirety of the background of each even Hughes marvels at how they got along during their weekend in Norman.
"The first night Cooper was with us, it was good to meet Cooper and talk about how he comes from a real small, small town. It was amazing when he was talking about it," Hughes said. "I think it was a greater accomplishment for him to get an offer than me, there was like one D-1 player in his time at the school. His family is really happy for him.
That said Washington wasn't the only future teammate Hughes spent time with."
