Return to Gators in Rainey's 'best interest'
Florida coach Urban Meyer not only wanted to let the legal process play its way out, but said he talked to numerous people when considering whether to allow suspended receiver Chris Rainey, who was arrested Sept. 14 on an accusation of aggravated stalking, to rejoin his team this week.
That included Florida president Bernard Machen, Gators athletic director Jeremy Foley, professionals working with Rainey, someone who spoke with the alleged victim and, of course, Rainey himself.
In the end, he determined Rainey, Florida's starting slot receiver before his arrest, deserved another shot.
