The Missouri Tigers have opened up the 2010-11 basketball season with five straight wins by an average of 20.5 points, a Cancun Challenge championship and a No. 9 national ranking.

And, by most accounts, Missouri has been fairly underwhelming thus far.

"I think we've got to play better," Mike Anderson said after a 91-63 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff. "We've got to be more consistent."

The win over the Golden Lions followed a familiar script for Mizzou thus far. The Tigers come out lifeless, muddle through an uninspiring first half and find themselves in a game that is much closer than expected with 20 minutes to go.

"It was a 38-36 game at halftime," Kim English said. "That was unacceptable."

Thus far, the listless outings haven't hurt Missouri. Of course, the Tigers haven't exactly faced a Murderer's Row schedule just yet. The first five opponents are a combined 12-and-13, not counting their losses to Missouri. Next up? Georgetown, which checks in 6-and-0 and 16th in the most recent Associated Press poll.

"Georgetown is a really good team," Bowers said. "They're very experienced. We've got to come out with a lot of energy. We can't come out flat like we've been doing."
