Most preseason talk about the Florida basketball team centered around two subjects: the five returning starters and the five heralded freshmen.

Erik Murphy seemed to be the forgotten man.

That, however, didn't bother the 6-foot-10, 229-pound sophomore power forward from South Kingstown, R.I. He was too busy working on his game to care.

"I wasn't paying attention to a lot of that," Murphy said. "I was just trying to focus on practice and getting ready for the season."
