Turk takes over half
MORGANTOWN--Early in the second half, West Virginia coach Bob Huggins had seen enough. Fortunately, so had Deniz Kilicli.
After three games of scoring a total of 12 points, Huggins talked with Kilicli before a practice and basically told him that he would have to earn minutes from here on. Big K sat while sophomore Dan Jennings started for the first time Tuesday night in the Mountaineers' 82-49 dismantling of Robert Morris.
"I talked to Deniz. He's such a good kid. He's so damn charitable," Huggs said jokingly after his team advanced to 6-2 on the season. "In the first half, he was his usual charitable self. You know we've thrown it in (to the paint) to him at least four times in the last four games. Each time the ball got kicked out. Then in the second half, he started to play. They were whacking him pretty good. It's not as easy at it looks."
