Running back into picture
When it looked like the Bearcats had found multiple running back targets, an old flame reignited.
Jameel Poteat revealed to BCR Saturday afternoon that he will officially visit Cincinnati.
A week ago Poteat told Rivals Recruiting Analyst Mike Farrell that he might open his recruitment back up.
The schools listed at that time were Rutgers, UConn, Tennessee, and Florida. As of today Poteat has opened it back up.
So much so that Pitt is now sounding like an outsider in the chase.
"I have to see who they hire to see what's up with that," said Poteat. "I can just tell you, I like Cincinnati alot."
The Bearcats did astonishingly well with Poteat over the summer despite his high school's proclivity for attending Pittsburgh.
"I am looking at other schools right now," said Poteat.
The schools that have a shot at Poteat this time around are "Rutgers, UConn, Tennessee, and Florida."
Ordinarily a quick check of already committed prospects at his position would be in order, but Poteat is a special talent. None of the aforementioned schools will pass on this opportunity.
Roster spaces will be made available regardless of the number crunch at Rutgers, UC, and Tennessee.
The Volunteers have backs Tom Harris and Devrin Young set to commit. Both four-star Chevelle Buie and two-star Ben Martin are locked in for Rutgers. Florida looks forward to dressing Mike Blakely in their attire next fall.
Connecticut has the most to gain with a potential commitment from Poteat. They currently have a pair of lowly rated backs in the mix. Neither is considered a top back at this time.
"I just have to see how everything falls out," said Poteat.
