Reed's three sinks MU; KU outright champs
Tyrel Reed refused to let KU's 15 point lead slip away against MU on Saturday. Leading by just four points late in the second half, Bill Self, during a timeout, called Reed's number and, without hesitation, the 6-foot-3, 193-pound guard from Burlington, Kan., assured Self he'd make the shot. With No. 2 ranked Kansas (29-2; 14-2) hanging on for dear life, Reed squared up from the corner and, as he so promised several seconds earlier, swished home his only three pointer of the day. With their lead over the Tigers back to seven, Self and the Jayhawks held on down the stretch, 70-66, and handed Missouri its first home loss of the year. Oh, in defeating its biggest rivals, Kansas also captured its seventh straight Big 12 Championship outright.
