Monrovia (Calif.) defensive tackle Ellis McCarthy was a recruit before he was a star football player. Four years ago, a Bishop Amat High School track coach happened upon McCarthy while he hit home runs in youth baseball. At 13-years old, McCarthy's future was already at a fork in the road.
