EAST LANSING - Coming off a lackluster performance in the season opener against Youngstown State, No. 17 ranked Michigan State played like a Top 20 football team in a 44-0 shutout of Florida Atlantic.

The Spartan defense limited the Owls to 48 yards of total offense and just one first down, while dominating time of possession with a balanced offense that piled up 434 yards.
