If Norfolk State didn't have the Mountaineers attention down 10-9 with under two minutes to play in the first half, they sure got it when Ryan Estep hit a 40-yard field goal to put the Spartans in the lead as time expired in the first-half. It was the fourth field goal of the first-half for the Spartans and undoubtedly led to some fiery locker room discussion for the Mountaineers.
4. Devon Brown's 18-yard touchdown catch in the 2nd quarter. West Virginia trailed 6-3 at the time, and had been in the redzone on three separate occasions, but only could come away with three points. The touchdown capped off an 11-play 81-yard drive and was the first of seven more touchdowns in the game.
