The final proving ground of Kansas State's non-conference schedule is decorated with palm trees, pomegranates and roasting pigs. All in all, it's not a bad backdrop for a stage. Still, the Maui Invitational it is not. This week's Hawaiian Airlines Diamondhead Classic doesn't bring the star power that Hawaii's most famous basketball event carries and the national interest in the field is dialed back.
