41 hours after leaving the court following a thrilling win over Tennessee, the Mississippi State Bulldogs are back at it this afternoon hosting twin state rival Alabama at 3 p.m.
The 20th ranked Bulldogs are hoping to hand the Crimson Tide their first loss of the conference slate as both are considered the top contenders in the Western Division.
MSU has won 10 of the last 13 meetings inside Humphrey Coliseum but the Tide have claimed four of the last five games overall including a sweep last season. Alabama leads the overall series 114-72 but in games played in Starkville Mississippi State holds a 55-35 edge.
The Crimson Tide won 75-57 last year in Starkville as well as 75-61 at Coleman Coliseum. Dee Bost led the Bulldogs in scoring in both of those contests averaging 16 points a game against Alabama.
The Bulldogs enter this afternoon's game with a 14-3 record overall and a 1-1 mark in conference play. MSU evened their league mark with a 62-58 win over Tennessee Thursday night behind 13-point scoring efforts from Bost, Renardo Sidney and Arnett Moultrie.
