Brown taking a vacation to Starkville
Today Marrero, La., three-star defensive end Ryan Brown will load up and head north to Mississippi State with his family for what he called "a little vacation to Starkville".
The 6-foot-5, 240-pounder will take his official visit to MSU bringing along his parents and two sisters.
"I expect to see more than what I've seen before," Brown said. "I've been there once or twice so I expect to see more of the academic side of Mississippi State more than the athletic side because I've already seen that."
Brown has been committed to the Bulldogs since mid-June but that was not always the case. Originally he pledged his services to South Florida and was committed to the Bulls for three months.
"At first I was committed to South Florida," Brown said. "I committed there off instinct because it was Florida and that was the wrong thing to do. My mother sat me down and talked to me and told me that it's more where I feel comfortable and what feels like home to me and where can help me academically get a degree while having fun doing it. At one point there were probably 20 or 30 schools and I chose Mississippi State because it's a place that knows how to have fun but also gets serious when it's time to get serious."
Since switching to State Brown has been happy with his decision.
