Vanderbilt stunned the college basketball world, upsetting No. 1 Kentucky in the Southeastern Conference finals on Sunday afternoon. VandySports.com's Chris Lee and Jesse Johnson tell you how it happened.



Turning point:
Three-fourths of the way through the game, the story had been the same all day: Vanderbilt threw a punch, and Kentucky answered. Finally, it seemed like UK was ready to take some momentum after Terrence Jones[/db] threw down a couple of dunks, the last one being a highlight-reel effort that got the partisan Wildcat crowd bringing the noise.

After the second, the 'Cats led 54-49, but instead of letting UK take the momentum and run, VU kept punching back. Still, Vandy couldn't get over the hump, and when Anthony Davis hit a free throw, putting UK up 62-55 with 5:23 left, it seemed like Vandy's window had perhaps closed - especially given that Festus Ezeli picked up his fourth foul on the play.

It wasn't over - not by a long-shot.
