Early look at Mountaineer basketball
The young West Virginia basketball squad may have fallen short of seemingly lofty goals last season, with the Mountaineers closing the season with a 19-14 record and first round NCAA tournament loss to Gonzaga. However, if there is one thing a Bob Huggins-coached squad knows how to do is climb out of a hole.
The Mountaineers enter the upcoming season with young energy, a state-of-the-art practice facility and a move to uncharted territory in the Big XII Conference. But how the young team unifies behind Coach Huggins and develops into system talent will be the telling difference between a rebound year and mediocre follow-up.
