Huntington (W.Va.) Spring Valley fullback Elijah Wellman had been in close contact with the West Virginia coaching staff after his impressive performance at the one-day camp last weekend. But Sunday he got the news that he never expected.

Wellman, 6-foot-2, 235-pounds, got word that West Virginia was extending him a scholarship offer to play fullback.
