Observations from non-conference
Texas Tech wrapped up the non-conference portion of its schedule Saturday with a convincing 49-14 win against New Mexico. As expected, the Red Raiders are 3-0 and will open up non-conference play Sept. 22 at Iowa State in Ames, Iowa.
A lot will be revealed against Iowa State. Offensively, the Cyclones have the potential to completely expose what is currently ranked the No. 2 defense in the country but on the contrary Tech can really begin to prove its defense has improved.
The Iowa State game is a huge on and Chris Level would tell you it's the biggest game in head coach Tommy Tuberville's Tech career. I tend to agree with that, seeing this as the head coach's best team considering most starters are players he recruited for the schemes he wants.
