McCalebb comes full circle at home
AUBURN -- Onterio McCalebb ended his career in Jordan-Hare Stadium the same way he started it.
In 2009, the running back carried the ball 22 times for 148 yards in his Auburn debut. McCalebb topped the 100-yard mark for the third time this season and finished with 104 yards, 38 receiving yards and two touchdowns Saturday in a 51-7 victory against Alabama A&M in his home finale.
Coach Gene Chizik reiterated multiple times leading up to Saturday that this game was about getting his seniors a win. None is more deserving than McCalebb.
"We wanted to make sure especially with Onterio being a senior, we want to give him enough carries where we felt like he's going to have a good game that he's going to remember," Chizik said.
Even if Auburn fans don't remember McCalebb's finale in Jordan-Hare, they will remember the contributions he has made to Auburn during the past four seasons.
