'One more year' for Le'Veon Bell?
EAST LANSING - Le'Veon Bell was greeted with the chant 'one more year' when he accepted the College Football Performance Awards Elite Running Back Trophy (National Running Back of the Year) during halftime of Michigan State's basketball game against Loyola-Chicago on Saturday.
A few minutes later, during a press conference, the 6-foot-2, 237-pound junior reflected on the moment.
"As I am out there and they are all chanting 'one more year' it was so emotional," said Bell, a first-team All-Big Ten tailback who rushed for 1,648 yards on 350 carries this season. "It is crazy how much the Spartan Nation really likes Le'Veon Bell. Being here the last couple of years has meant everything to me. It was a great moment out there. I just wanted to do it for the fans, of course I couldn't win anything without my teammates who helped me get to this point or the coaches who have put me in the right situation. It is a total team effort."
Bell remains steadfast in his claim that he has thought very little about his future at tailback.
"I just want to get to the game first," Bell said. "I will just let the rest take care of itself. I am not in any rush to make a decision or anything. I haven't really been thinking about it. I have just been trying to finish the season out."
