Ole Miss preview
There is not much for Mississippi State left to play for at this point in the season.
13-straight losses compounded by a decimated and inexperienced roster have left the Bulldogs reeling over the last two months. But MSU could get a little piece of pride back if it can pull off a win hosting instate archrival Ole Miss at 4 p.m.
The Bulldogs current losing skid began 50 days ago and is the longest such streak in the same season in school history.
State holds a 139-107 edge in the overall series against the Rebels, which dates back to 1914. The Bulldogs are 93-24 in games played in Starkville in the series including three straight inside Humphrey Coliseum. Ole Miss has not swept the series since 1998 and have only done so twice in the last 29 years. Mississippi State has 10 sweeps over the same span.
The Rebels claimed the previous meeting 93-75 on Feb. 6 in Oxford. Junior guard Marshall Henderson (6-2, 175) put up 31 points in that contest including six 3-pointers at Tad Smith Coliseum against MSU. The Bulldogs were led by freshman guard Craig Sword with 17 points.
