It seems as if Sandy Creek wide receiver Demarre Kitt has been a hot name in recruiting for, well, forever.
The Rivals100 prospect started getting offers after his sophomore season with the Patriots, and things haven't slowed down since.
Kitt had originally planned to cut his list of teams to 10 after spring practice, but last week he decided to make a move a little sooner.
"Things are crazy," Kitt said. "That is why I had to narrow things down to a top 15 recently. Almost every school that has offered has been recruiting me pretty hard. I have the top 15 but my favorites right now are Ohio State and Clemson."
Auburn, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas, and Georgia were also notable teams listed in that top 15, but, as Kitt stated, the Clemson and Ohio State are on top right now and those teams are there for a reason.
"They (Ohio State and Clemson) stuck out when I visited," he said. "They showed me film that I really liked it. I feel at home at both so I could see myself there one day."
One team that seems to have fallen quite a bit with the blue chip receiver is a team he was one committed to in UGA.
Kitt says that Georgia went a period of time without recruiting him heavily, but that has now changed.
"Coach (John) Lilly wants me to talk to him all the time and messages me on Twitter," Kitt said. "They are just messaging me and talking to me a lot. I talked to Coach (Mark) Richt last week. That is how it is now."
The Bulldog staff was able to get the four-star playmaker on campus Saturday for the team's first practice of the spring, and according to Kitt, Georgia is back in the mix.
"It went good. I watched the practice," Kitt said of his visit to UGA last weekend. "They told me they need receivers. They put that thought in me. I sat down with Coach Richt after and talked with him for a good 30 minutes. We just talked about how he was at Florida State and how many receivers he has put in the league there and at Georgia. We talked education and all of that. Georgia is back in it for me."
With so many teams on his radar at this point, Kitt understands that he has to take as many visits as possible to make an informed decision.
"I'll be going back to Georgia sometime soon," he said. "I'll be visiting Clemson, Auburn, and Tennessee. I'll see Ohio State again. Then some other places."
After he takes as many visits as possible, Kitt, who says that he plans to talk all of his official visits, has a timeline for how he plans to trim his list to a top five before reaching a decision.
"I'm cutting it down to eight to ten teams by the end of the spring then to a top five before the season," he said. "Then probably around November or around then I'll decide."
