Smith Blazes Through Athens NIKE Camp
If you're a college football coach looking for prospects during this spring's evaluation period, the place to be today was in Athens, Ga.
More than 500 high school players attended today's NIKE camp on the Georgia campus, and among those were plenty who are either already Tennessee recruiting targets, or will be at some point down the road, like Knoxville's Harrison Smith.
With many of the elite prospects in the South on hand for today's event, which was attended by over a 100 major college coaches and assistants, few enhanced their stature more than Smith.
Already a big-time prospect based on his early offers, today Smith ensured that he'll impress those observers enamored with a players' measurables. He turned plenty of heads today by laying down an electronically timed 4.38 40-yard dash that seemed a resounding answer to some who question whether he can play in the defensive backfield at the college level.
