Elite lineman Powell preparing for senior season
Tydreke Powell, a 6-3, 295-pound defensive lineman from Ahoskie, N.C., Hertford County, has gone from a relative unknown to one of the nation's elite college football prospects over a span of six months.
Powell's coach at Hertford County, Greg Watford, spoke with Carolina Blue this week about his star player, answering questions about his development, and his interest in the University of North Carolina.
"Tydreke's size, speed, quickness, and agility are the things that college coaches are looking at," said Watford.
"The thing that makes him a great player is the fact that he has one of the best work ethics in our program," Watford added. "Plus, he's coachable, fun to be around, and he's a polite young man; those are the things that make him a great recruit."
