Clemson staying in lead group with Bama safety
It could be argued that Mobile - Davidson athlete Michael McNeil is the top prospect in the state of Alabama.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound defensive back goes into July as the No. 5 safety in the nation, holding 21 scholarship offers with a spot comfortably inside of the Rivals100 to boot.
"I've got almost a couple of dozen offers now, and I've been to Alabama, Auburn, Florida and Ole Miss so far," McNeil told Tigerillustrated.com Wednesday night. "I've got some more plans before the summer ends. I'm going to Florida State next month, and I'm going to try to get to Florida, Clemson and Auburn. I might be in Auburn on July 15th."
McNeil said every school that has offered has recruited him with the same amount of intensity, though he does note the high-stakes pursuit of the in-state schools.
