Loche being tutored by the best
What's it like being a redshirt freshman at a SEC school backing up a consensus All-American?
Rogers Loche of Bastrop, La., can answer that question and the talented backer has the dubious honor of backing up one of Ole Miss best linebackers in school history.
Senior Patrick Willis has been named to at least four pre-season teams as a first team All-American, including Rivals.com, and has emerged with the label of being considered by many as the top linebacker in the country.
Willis, who hadn't started a game before last season - although he saw considerable playing time as a true freshman and sophomore - played through a host of injuries including a broken finger that required him to wear a "club" for most of the season last year. While he was not known nationally headed into the season, he emerged as an All-SEC selection and notched approximately 50 tackles more than the SEC defensive player of the year.
