Belle Glade, Fla., Glades Central High School WR Deonte Thompson is taking a mini-break from the intensity of recruiting.

Because of the summer's dead period, he's had a break from the incessant calls from college coaches.

"I give coaches a call every now and then," he says. "I call Miami, just a couple of schools."

He still gets regular recruiting mail from colleges around the nation, of course.

"It's a lot every day," he says.

And his family has a small mailbox.

"It gets full," Thompson says. "I'll go through all the mail, but I don't read everything."
