The Clemson coaching staff has landed a major recruiting-get, as today at a 12:30pm press conference four-star rated defensive back Marcus Gilchrist of High Point, N.C., announced his intentions to sign a national letter of intent with Clemson next February.

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound athlete is rated by Rivals.com as the No. 2 recruit overall regardless of position in the state of North Carolina, and the No. 7 cornerback nationally.

Gilchrist chose the Tigers over two-dozen offers, including full rides from the likes of Notre Dame, Florida, Michigan, Tennessee, Georgia and Virginia Tech.
