Nunn discusses his decision
Rumor had circled for a couple weeks that offensive tackle Kyle Nunn out of Sumter, S.C. had picked the Hokies. The 6-foot-5, 265-pounder finally made it official last Thursday committing to Virginia Tech over offers from North Carolina, North Carolina State and South Carolina.
"To me the decision was a no brainer," he said. "I mean it was an easy decision to make because I liked everything about Virginia Tech. It was the best place for me. I like that the coaches are very involved including coach Wiles, Newsome and Beamer. I had some great conversations with Frank Beamer about this recruiting class, while coach Wiles and Newsome seem like really good people that I want to be around."
The two-star prospect plans to enroll at Tech next year and went on to say he's glad to be done with the decision.
"It feels good to be over with it," he said. "Even though I committed, South Carolina offered me on Friday and it's nice to get the offer, but it's too late for them. For them to be an in-state school and wait that long is way too long for me."
