The wait is over as Gators take the practice field
The wait is finally over as the Florida Gators took the field at their normal practice facility this afternoon, starting the on-field preparations for their 100th season of football.
In the first of two sessions today, the program's newcomers practiced before the returning players take the field later tonight. Gator fan's got their first look at some of the players that made up one of last year's top recruiting classes, and even though head coach Urban Meyer wasn't ready to start naming names, he said after practice he liked what he saw.
"I'm not going to give you names now, but I can tell you there are a couple of guys that are going to play," Meyer said.
One of the issues Meyer will have to deal with over the next few weeks is the different level of preparedness the newcomers have. So the different backgrounds the players came from before they arrived in Gainesville may lend more to who sees the field this fall and who doesn't.
