Acho aiming for Irish offer
Patience may be a virtue Notre Dame needs from Sam Acho.
The 6-foot-2, 250-pound defensive end from Dallas, Texas has exploded onto the recruiting circuit in recent weeks, going from a little-known prospect from St. Mark's to a national name coveted by Southern California, Texas, Stanford, Iowa and Nebraska. Acho believes Notre Dame could be close to pulling the trigger on a scholarship offer as well, and sooner may be better for the Irish considering the defender is toying with the idea of making a commitment before the start of his senior season.
"I don't want to rush anything, but I just want to get it somewhat out of the way before I get deep into the season," Acho said. "I really like Notre Dame. I should talk to them pretty soon to see where I stand. It's a great football program and they'd definitely be up on my list."
