Rome was not built in a day. One practice does not make a pre-season. However, you want to say it, it is true. In the pre-season you can't put great stock in one practice especially not the first one. However, you can't take some positives from some individuals as well as some concerns. So on the heels of last night's pre-season scrimmage work, what was positive and what was concerning coming off the field last night.
It's a rare occurrence coaches from both sides of the ball seemed genuinely pleased with what they saw Tuesday night, but as Dan Brooks reminded me nothing counts till they see the film.
"I have the worst seat in the house on the field," Brooks said of making early evaluations. "But I think we played really hard and we will see the tape."
