Camp Tontozona: Offensive Preview
OK, let's get one thing straight. As long as ASU is playing a starting quarterback that is healthy, and that quarterback is named either Sam Keller or Rudy Carpenter, the team is going to have an excellent player as the trigger man of a potent offense. There is just no getting around that.
But that isn't to say this battle is unimportant.
This competition matters, certainly. It matters to the two quarterbacks, their friends, and their family members, and anyone else that has a vested interest in the players themselves. But strictly speaking, it shouldn't really matter to the fans, so long as both players remain a part of this program through the season, and Carpenter is still poised to take the reins as a junior in 2007.
