Gamble's move pays off
Before coming to play for the Georgia Bulldogs, Darryl Gamble's background was mostly as a safety. Though he's competing for time at linebacker instead of safety as a true freshman for the Bulldogs, the position shift hasn't been too hard to the Bainbridge product thanks to his speed.
"I think it's a big advantage because I'm a lot faster than the other linebackers," Gamble said. "Speed, that's really one of my plusses."
So far in preseason camp, Gamble's gotten work with mostly the No. 2 defense and the No. 1 unit on occasion at the Mike linebacker position behind starting senior Jarvis Jackson and sophomore Marcus Washington.
