Newcomers make impact
In Texas A&M's season opening win, 35-3, over The Citadel Saturday the Aggies were able to get a lot of players in the game to gain valuable game day experience. In all 70 players made it onto Kyle Field to play.
Twenty-one of those played in their first collegiate game and five of those were true freshman.
One true freshman who made his mark, both good and bad, was running back Mike Goodson.
Goodson showed flashes of brilliance running the ball that prove that the hype for the former Rivals.com four-star prospect is for real. His lightning quick speed and ability to cut and make defenders miss is something that not too many backs in recent A&M history have had the ability to do.
But on the opposite side of the spectrum, Goodson fumbled the ball twice in his five carries.
