Offensive insider: Tech Red Raiders
In Graham Harrell, Texas Tech head coach Mike Leach finally has a blue-chip signal caller at the helm of his high octane offense. The sophomore quarterback's performance so far this season is a story of both highs and lows.
Through five games, the Red Raiders are averaging 33.8 points and over 423 yards of total offense per contest. They are 15th in the country in total offense, third in passing offense and 104th on the ground.
While certainly respectable, these numbers are not what fans have come to expect out of Tech's offense.
This dip in production is largely due to a lack of consistency.
"Graham played as good as I've ever seen him play most of the first half [against Texas A&M]," explained Leach on Monday.
