OFFENSE

She says: Well, it wasn't perfect, but the Beavers did what they needed
to do to take care of business against a struggling Stanford squad. There were
many positives and although the offense became VERY conservative in the
red zone, I am going to give the benefit of the doubt to the coaching staff
for not wanting to show their hand prior to the Civil War this week.

I must say that I was surprised that Yvenson Bernard carried the ball
36 times in this game, especially with the short week leading up to Civil War.
Luckily, he didn't look any worse for wear and looked to escape the Farm unscathed.

Matt Moore was able to calm down after last weeks three fumble performance
against UCLA to have an adequate 15-24 day for 176 yards. Most impressive was
the "0" in the turnover department. "Come on Matt, take it to
the Ducks this week!"

At receiver, I continue to be impressed with the play of Brandon Powers.
He is really turning into the possession receiver that the Beavers needed following
the graduation of Mike Hass. Powers ended the day with 6 catches for 58 yards
and 1 touchdown while the continually reliable Sammie Stroughter added
70 yards and a touchdown on four catches. These two have risen to the top of
the receiver group and the good thing for Beaver fans is that both are juniors
and will be back next season.
