Will FSU make an impact in the next NFL draft?
The Seminoles ruled the 2006 NFL draft with four players falling in the first round and eight being selected overall.
It's unlikely FSU will make the same kind of impact in 2007. With only a handful of graduating seniors on the roster, there aren't as many players eligible for the draft and of the few that are available, not many are high end pro prospects.
The one senior that may have a shot at the first round is Buster Davis. FSU's starting middle linebacker for the last three seasons was the unquestioned team leader in 2006 and led the defense in tackles with 102. In addition to his leadership and production in college, Davis boasts outstanding athleticism, speed and was the co-winner in the team's strength index last summer. That should make him a lock to be a first day pick, but where he will fall in the first three rounds is very much up for debate.
