Army All-American MVP
Anaheim (Calif.) Servite five-star linebacker Chris Galippo became the first defensive player to ever win the Pete Dawkins Trophy for being the Army All-American Bowl's most valuable player.
Joining past winners like Vince Young, Ted Ginn Jr. and Chris Leak, Galippo began bowl practices just hoping to represent California well.
The nation's No. 1 rated linebacker registered more than a dozen tackles in the game, leading the West to a 24-7 victory Saturday. As the first defensive player to win the MVP trophy in the game's seven-year history, Galippo's latest honor was an unexpected one.
