Buckner looking to make an early move
When looking at some recruits early in the recruiting game, it's easy to tell who the big-timers are simply by looking at their video tape. For others, one need only to look at the amount of interest being shown by some of the top programs from around the country. For a player as talented as Dan Buckner, either case applies.
One of the top wide receiver prospects in the nation for 2008, Buckner has had college coaches flocking to Allen High School to get a better look at his talents, and he's already reeled in scholarship offers from programs like Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Nebraska and Texas Tech, to name but a few.
One school that has yet to offer, but has been in close contact, is The University of Texas. The Longhorn staff has invited Buckner to its first junior day of the year, set for February 11, and the playmaking wideout plans to be in attendance.
