Sometimes it is tough for a Kentucky high school basketball star to get the attention of major colleges. The perception, right or wrong, is that lesser competition within the state leads to inflated numbers that do not translate to the college level.

But then there are guys like Elizabethtown's Steffphon Pettigrew who simply refuse to be ignored.
