All well that ends well
Projecting the needs of a team can be difficult, as things can and do happen as the season goes forward. That can change the whole outlook and need for a particular position. How does it look for filling the wide receiver needs? Could it have been better? Will a last-minute addition be made to get another top-notch receiver?
HuskersIllustrated.com has been consistent in projecting the need for two wide receivers. It certainly helped to pick up three tall receivers in the 2005-2006 class. Will Henry at 6-foot-6 was the tallest of the three, followed by JUCO transfer Maurice Purify at 6-foot-4. Menelik Holt measured out at 6-foot-3 and 210-pounds.
With a few exceptions, it appeared that the staff was looking more for speed this recruiting cycle instead of the height. It helped the WR situation by getting an early January, 2006 commitment from Rivals.com four-star rated Niles Paul. Having him in the fold made it that much easier.
