David Watson exemplifies intensity, and intensity is what has fueled USC practices since Pete Carroll's arrival in 2001.
Watson, who is in his second year as a full time assistant coach, demands passion from his players without the sacrifice of detail. Two weeks into spring, Watson prepares the defensive line for its first scrimmage.
With an experienced unit returning, the Trojans' defensive line will be expected to make game changing plays in 2007. Sunday's scrimmage will only be successful if it produces chaos in the trenches.
"We want to get off the rock," said Watson of Sunday's scrimmage. "We've had a couple of off-side calls on us (this spring), but we'll take that if we're getting sacks and tackles for losses.
