Acho hoping to carry on the tradition
The name of Dallas St. Mark's linebacker Emmanuel Acho jumped on to the recruiting radar last year when his older brother Sam burst on to the scene as a top 2007 prospect. Emmanuel, a linebacker in the 2008 class, was regarded as a top-level talent in his own right, but he sat in the background while his brother dominated the headlines, eventually committing to the Texas Longhorns.
This spring, it's been Emmanuel's turn to step into the spotlight, and he was one of several prospects to make waves in early February when he gave the Longhorns an early commitment.
Since that time, Acho has been keeping himself busy in the weight room and preparing for track, and he's added some bulk to his 6-foot-2 frame.
On the recruiting front, the blue-chip backer has kept in regular contact with the Texas coaches, but things have been fairly quiet outside of his conversations with the Longhorn staff.
