Irish battle to keep Sabino's attention
For some prospects, a spring visit from Charlie Weis leaves a lasting impression. In the case of Etienne Sabino, it just means Notre Dame kept pace with the other college football heavyweights chasing the 6-foot-3, 228-pound linebacker from Miami, Fla.
In addition to Weis heading south, Florida head coach Urban Meyer visited Krop High School earlier this month. Alabama's Nick Saban toured on Monday. USC's Pete Carroll will hit the campus later this week. All the attention has turned Krop's spring practice into must-see football for college coaches.
"It's been hectic, but it's been fun though," Sabino said. "I'm not thinking about it at all during practice. I'm just being myself and doing what got me here. I don't think it's bad to hear that you're good from time to time."
